When you install any one of IObit programs such as Advanced SystemCare, Uninstaller and other, LiveUpdate component -IObit product updater that-checks periodically for program updates and notifies you when available – gets installed and registers itself in Windows as a Service.
Most annoying part is LiveUpdate.exe process keeps running and checks for updates even though you’ve uninstalled program(s) of IObit. Lets see how to disable this if you no longer need it.
Update: Navigate to ‘LiveUpdate’ folder via this path: ‘C:\Program Files\IObit’, and permanently delete that folder. Do remember, if you install another Iobit product, it gets added again there.
Disabling IObit’s LiveUpdate.exe
LiveUpdate.exe application runs from this directory ” C:\Program Files\IObit\LiveUpdate”. What happened? And what we need to do to stop this process from running on startup? This process has been set to start automatically on startup and we’re going to disable it and stop the service.
How to disable ‘Uninstall Monitor’ Feature in IObit Uninstaller 4?
For that
1. Open Run command and type “services.msc” (without quotes) and press enter
2. Find LiveUpdate.exe, double click on it to bring Properties dialog and choose startup type as “Disabled” ” and click “Stop” button.
3. Click “OK” to apply the changes.
Note: If you install another IObit product next time, that service automatically gets active again. Hope you know what to do after uninstalling that program.
thanks I tried to find a way to stop live update thanks I have adverts popping up on my browser HELP
Can u tell which popups or adverts are you seeing in browser(which one)? Are they related to IObit?
I really used to like IObit Uninstaller. But since they took it upon themselves to introduce the uninstaller monitor in the latest versions, along with this intrusive liveupdate.exe, I will no longer use this product.
Thanks for sharing your opinion on IObit Uninstaller Joe.
Thank you, I am so tired of it popping up and holding me up.
