Stamps.com Connect is a free download for Windows 11, Windows 10 and Mac that links your Stamps.com account to thermal label printers and USB postal scales. Install it once, sign in, and the browser version of Stamps.com can print NetStamps rolls, read package weights and print envelopes.
This guide covers the right installer for your computer, setup steps, the Stamps.com plan you need, supported printers and scales, and fixes for printing and weight errors.

Which Stamps.com Connect download do you need?
Match your computer and what you print to a row. Connect is one installer per operating system.
| Your setup | What to download | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC | Stamps.com Connect for Windows (Connect article) | Sign in with your Stamps.com account |
| Mac | Stamps.com Connect for macOS (Connect article) | Runs from the menu bar |
| You print only NetStamps sheets, or envelopes from Chrome | Nothing extra: print from the browser | Connect is optional here |
| You want a full desktop program instead of the browser | Stamps.com Desktop App on the Microsoft Store | Separate app, not Connect |
| You need XML import/export, ODBC or packing slips | Classic PC Software (Download page) | Windows only |
Connect does not replace your Stamps.com account. It gives the web version access to printers and scales the browser cannot reach on its own.

Which Stamps.com Connect download do you need for your Mac?
The Mac installer does the same job as the Windows one: it links the browser to your printer and scale.
| Your Mac | What to install | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Printing from Stamps.com in Safari or Firefox | Stamps.com Connect for macOS | Needed for envelopes, NetStamps rolls and scales |
| Printing envelopes from Google Chrome only | No Connect needed | Chrome prints envelopes without it |
| You prefer a native Stamps.com program | Stamps.com for Desktop on the Mac App Store | Full client, separate from Connect |
After you install it, select the Stamps.com Connect icon in the menu bar and choose Sign In if it appears.
Is Stamps.com Connect free?
The helper costs nothing. The Stamps.com account it signs in to does.
Yes, the Connect download is free, but you need a paid Stamps.com plan or the 30-day risk-free trial to use it. Stamps.com Basic is $14.99 a month with 25 stamps and 10 labels a month. Professional starts at $29.99 a month with unlimited stamps and labels. Multi-Location starts at $49.99 a month. You can cancel any time, and postage is billed separately.

Should you install Stamps.com Connect or the Desktop App?
Both appear on the Stamps.com Download page, so the choice trips people up.
Install Connect if you use Stamps.com in a browser. Install the Desktop App if you want Stamps.com as its own program. Connect runs in the background and hands print jobs and scale weights to the web version. The Desktop App is a complete client from the Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store. The Classic PC Software stays the pick for XML import/export, ODBC and packing slips.
How to check your Stamps.com Connect version and update it
Stamps.com changed the Connect icon in a recent release, which makes an old install easy to spot.
- On Windows, select the ^ icon on the taskbar to show hidden icons.
- Compare the Connect icon with the old and new icons in the Connect troubleshooting guide.
- If the old icon shows, use the Check for Updates feature in Connect, or reinstall from the Connect article.
- Install the same Connect version on every workstation that shares a scale or printer.
Mismatched Connect versions across a network cause sync errors, so update every PC at the same time.
