Recent insider builds in dev channel, received the ability to alert users with a notification from Action Center when apps register to run on Startup. And, Windows 10 Search box now shows recent searches you’ve performed. Today, Microsoft launched theme-aware splash screens for Universal Windows Platform (UWP) Apps.
After adding theme-aware tiles to Start Menu in Windows 10 October 2020 Update, version 20H2, Microsoft is bringing theme-aware splash screens to certain UWP Apps. When an appropriate UWP is launched, the splash screen color will match the default app mode.
Theme-aware splash Screens
For instance, an App Splash Screen appears dark when your Windows 10’s default ap mode set to dark.

Similarly, if you’re using a light theme, you’ll notice a light theme splash screen.

The above screenshots show how the Settings app splash screen looks when you use a dark theme and light theme on Windows 10.
As of now, the theme-aware Splash screen is supported by the following apps
- Windows Security
- Settings
- Microsoft Store
- Microsoft ToDo
- Feedback Hub
- Calculator
- Maps
- Alarms & clock
- Voice Recorder
- Movies & TV
- Groove
- Office
- Microsoft Solitaire collection
This may be unnecessary, but a nice addition for sure. The above new feature is available in Windows 10 build 20241 and is rolling out to a subset of insiders.
The build 20241 also includes tweaks to the Optimize Drives page and other improvements and changes and bug fixes.
