Firefox Focus 7.0 enters beta, Switches to GeckoView (Gecko Engine)

The next version of Firefox Focus browser for Android to come with two significant changes: the browser to use new rendering engine, Gecko, that powers Firefox Quantum, and with larger download size. The app’s size is now 10 times greater than current version 6.1’s due to bundling of the app with Gecko engine. Firefox Focus 7.0 in beta with these changes is now available on Google Play Store for download.

If you’re unfamiliar with Firefox Focus, the privacy browser app from Mozilla available on Google Play for Android smartphone, automatically blocks ads and trackers. With the built-in tracking protection, pages will load faster. The browser offers an  erase button to clear your browsing history, with a single tap, your visits, and searches performed on various private or confidential things will be deleted.

The app version 7 .0 has added search suggestions and tips to on home page to access Firefox Focus popular features quickly.

Search Suggestions are not turned on by default. The user will be prompted to enable them for the first time and at any time the same can be disabled by visiting Settings > Search > Get Search Suggestions.

Note: Firefox Focus uses Google as default search engine and when search suggestions setting is enabled, whatever you type in the address bar will be sent to Google for browse to show results on your screen.
