The article which I’ve written way back in 2008 on how to integrate internet Download manager into Chrome is old and needs to updated which I did. If you’ve Google Chrome installed on your computer and when you install IDM it will install its extension into browser which you need to allow or enable it from Chrome extensions page. Then you can download files in Chrome using IDM. This article tells you how to install IDM integration Chrome extension manually if you’ve deleted or uninstalled unintentionally.
Reinstalling IDM Integration Extension in Chrome
1. All you need to do is visit IDM installed directory in Program files, here is its path for navigation in Explorer “C:Program FilesInternet Download Manager”.
2. And drag-n- drop IDMGCExt.crx extension onto Chrome://extensions page or you can open that page by Chrome menu>Tools>Extensions.
That’s it IDM Integration extension will be installed for chrome.
Bonus: Similarly if Firefox showed compatibility problems for IDM extension and disabled it in the browser, remove it. Then download and save idmzzcc.xpi extension from here and drag and drop it onto Firefox address bar to install.
