Microsoft Edge now lets you view and validate digital signatures in PDF files in the latest Canary version. New Microsoft Edge is the default PDF Reader on Windows 10, but its PDF Viewer is not packed with features such as Classic Edge.
Till now new Microsoft Edge supports the following features:
- Read aloud
- Allows highlighting text with different colors.
- Ink on PDF and dark mode
- Fill PDF forms
Recently, Microsoft promised it is working on bringing Table of Contents, Text Notes, Smoother Scrolling experience, Highlight mode, and Digital Signatures to new Edge’s PDF Reader.

Digital Signatures feature is now available in Edge Canary version 85.0.562.0 or later versions. Here is how you can enable it.
Enable Digital Signature for PDFs in new Microsoft Edge
1. Launch Microsoft Edge browser
2. Visit edge://flags page
3. Search for “Enable Digital Signature for PDF”

4. Select “Enabled” from the dropdown and restart the browser.
Now load any PDF in the Edge browser that contains a digital signature.
You’ll notice Edge PDF Viewer showing the new “Digital Signature” option on the toolbar. It also prompts you to “View Signatures” with the message “This document is digitally signed..”.
Clicking on View Signatures shows the signature details.

Clicking properties displays time stamp, location, and other details along with a button for Edge to validate the signature..
