YouTube with new design not supported in Edge Chromium, You can make it work this way

Google is trying to say one point to Edge Chromium users, again and again, your browser is not supported in their websites such as Meet, Google Docs, Google Drive and Google Earth, you can add one more Google site to that list, YouTube. Apparently, YouTube is serving its old design to unsupported Edge browser that is using Chromium.

Zac Bowden spotted this and post this on twitter, he claims till now Google allowed its new YouTube to work in Edge, today it blocked the browser. If you visit YouTube.com/new, the site details more about its new look, it informs “our new desktop design puts the videos and creators you love front and center with a cleaner, simpler layout that lets the content shine”

YouTube with a simple, clean design built on a faster framework offers a dark theme, which is available in new account menu that takes away the glare and brings true colors of videos to watch, the page explains.

You can make the new YouTube work in Edge as we did for Meet by changing the user agent to Google Chrome, follow the below instructions for that.

Do note visiting this link mentioned above in supported browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Edge and Opera displays a totally different page, it asks to signup to “Shape the future of YouTube”

Make the new YouTube design work in Microsoft Edge Chromium

1. Visit youtube.com new Edge browser

2. Click on ellipsis menu > More Tools > Developer Tools

3. Click on ellipsis icon > More Tools > Network Conditions

4. For User Agent, uncheck “select Automatically” and choose “Chrome -Windows ”

5. Reload YouTube to see the new layout.
