If you don’t want Internet Explorer 11 final to be installed automatically in Windows 7 through Automatic Updates, then you can prevent that happening by installing IE11 Blocker Toolkit. Recently Microsoft has released Release Preview of Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7, and Windows 8.1 to be offered this month on October 17 and it seems IE11 final is imminent as Microsoft already made Automatic Update blocker for it available for download on its download center. Internet Explorer 11 Blocker Toolkit upon installing in Windows 7 SP1 will disable automatic delivery of Microsoft browser as an important update via Automatic updates of Windows Update.
What happens behind the scenes is this blocker toolkit sets particular registry to block value then automatic delivery of update will be deactivated permanently.
How to Install Internet Explorer 11 Blocker Toolkit
- Download IE11 Blocker Toolkit file .
- Run it, accept the license agreement after that specify the location on your computer where file to be extracted
- After that run IE11_Blocker command script file.
You should know that this blocker toolkit does not prevent you from manually installing IE11 on your computer.
You can download IE11 Blocker Toolkit from here.
I was able to remove IE11, but cannot find IE10 on any sites in MS land. I’ve seen a link before, so it’s there somewhere, but MS hides it pretty well. And typing 10 in any url for 11 simply redirects to the IE11 page.
You can find the offline installer links to download IE10 final in this post https://techdows.com/2013/02/ie10-for-windows-7-offline-installer.html, has that helped you? Let me know.
