Google adds Chrome Cleanup Tool to Chrome Settings

You can now run Chrome Cleanup tool for Unwanted Software from within Chrome. Google Chrome Cleanup tool which till now available as separate download and to some part in your computer as Software Reporter tool (learn how to disable it) has been integrated into Chrome Settings in version 65 to perform unwanted software scan by the user without needing to manually download the tool.

Google Chrome 65, apart from getting material design for extensions page and showing favions in omnibox suggestions, has now got Chrome Cleanup tool added in Reset Settings and available under’ Reset and cleanup’ section at the bottom of advanced Settings.

Initiate an unwanted software scan from within Chrome

1. Chrome menu > Settings > Advanced > Reset and Cleanup,

2. Click ‘Cleanup your computer’ and click on ‘Find’ button opposite to ‘Find and remove harmful software’

3. You may don’t want to submit scan results to Google, option is provided at the bottom, you just have to uncheck that.

    Yeah right! It deleted my Advanced Systemcare. Definitely NOT unwanted software and I actually use it every day

      I am not sure Chrome Cleanup tool uninstalls programs on user computer on its own, it just sends unwanted software chrome users using to Google.

      Yep, Chrome 67 stable has been released recently and available for all platforms. What’s your question btw?
