
Check Point has released version 11 for ZoneAlarm Free Firewall, now available for download from ZoneAlarm site. This version adds support for Windows 8 and Firefox 16 browser. ZA Firewall works with other antiviruses. In fact ZA offering their Firewall with Antivirus as another product. No configuration from user is required.

Beware of ZoneAlarm toolbar
Caution: Don’t install this program with default settings – this program installs ZoneAlarm toolbar and makes changes to Search engine and homepages of browsers. So you should always select custom install to avoid these croppy toolbars from being installed on your computer.

You should never use two Firewalls on your system that degrades system performance, that’s why ZA Firewall automatically disables Windows Firewall after its installation and turns on the same when you uninstall Firewall of ZoneAlarm.
Cons
By default allows some programs to run and blocks even some trusted programs installed by users. This can be annoying and it is indeed difficult for beginners to configure Firewall to allows certain programs. User can add programs manually to Firewall exception list in Application Control.
