
CCleaner is getting better and better with every release, it can be addition of new features or improvements to existed ones, today Piriform has released CCleaner 3.24 with the support to manage Firefox plugins. Other notable addition is they’ve improved architecture for 64-bit builds of Windows 7 and 8. This Release also includes minor bug fixes and GUI improvements.
CCleaner Now Lets you manage Firefox plugins
Before telling about new tool CCleaner integrated into its Tools section, let me tell you how Firefox lets you mange plugins. Open Add-ons manager, click on Plugins panel to view installed plugins, here Firefox allows to disable any plugin and you can see plugin path, version number and other information by visiting about:plugins in browser.
Where Firefox/Mozilla tab on Startup section of Tools displays the following information for each plugin.
Plugin name, Publisher name, status (enabled or disabled), plugin residing profile name, and its path. CCleaner here allows to save list of Firefox plugins to a text file. You can also disable/enable selected plugin depending on its active status.
Right-clicking on a plugin allows to open its containing folder, that is something useful that helps in troubleshooting plugin issues which Firefox doesn’t offers.
CCleaner startup also allows to manage Windows startup programs, IE add-ons, Windows scheduled tasks and context menu items.
