Dropbox’s Desktop Client Gets A New Tray Menu, Looking good

Last updated on September 26, 2012 By Venkat

Till now Dropbox has been testing a new tray menu for its Desktop client internally and today  it has been released for Preview with experimental build v 1.5.3.4, new one looks good over the grayed old fashioned tray menu. Popup which appears when you right click on Dropbox tray icon has been redesigned which offers open Dropbox folder, Pause, help and Settings buttons on top with changes to files, up-to-date status at the center and you’ll see go to Dropbox website button and percentage of storage has been used at the bottom.

Exit button has been moved to General tab of Dropbox preference, we feel its better to be strayed on menu it self. Other than that no significant changes to share. Check current and upcoming tray menu for desktop client offered by Dropbox side be side below.

Currently this experimental build enables this menu on Mac OS X 10.6 and above and Windows XP and above OSes (you can’t see this in Linux).  You can download this build from here.
