Windows Live Essentials 2012 err! Windows Essentials 2012 has been released by Microsoft with inclusion of new versions of Windows Movie Maker and Photo Gallery for Windows 7 and Windows 8. Windows Essentials 2012 includes SkyDrive app for Windows, Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Family Safety, Windows Live Writer, Outlook Connector Pack, Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Movie Maker.
Don’t Install Movie Maker or Photo Gallery in Windows Essentials 2012 if you’re using Live Mesh
If you’ve Windows Live Mesh installed on your Computer you’re warned not to install New Movie Maker or Photo Gallery as part of Windows Essentials 2012 because here Live Mesh will be removed and in place of it new Movie Maker or Photo Gallery will be installed. You should note that both Windows Essentials 2012 and Live Mesh can’t run on same machine.
What about Windows Live Writer 12 ?
Windows Live Writer got an update, we don’t know the changes yet, Live Writer 2012 works on Windows 8. At least we can confirm no changes to UI.
What’s new in Windows Essentials 2012
Here more emphasis given to Movie Maker and Photo Gallery, since new features have been added to these taking advantage of some advances in Windows 8.
- Movie Maker using video stabilization feature makes shaky videos smoother.
- Movie Maker now allows to add music from three music services such as AudioMicro, Free Music Archive and Vimeo Music Store and these services does offer music that have proper rights for you to share.
- You can outline the text that you’ve added on the video background
- Photo Galley lets you auto collage your photos in Windows 8.
- You can share videos to Vimeo from Photo Gallery and Movie Maker.

Thanks for the offline link. Its really problematic to download the software everytime. Its wastage of my bandwidth as i have limited plan. Thanks.
You’re welcome
Do you have separate package for each installers? Windows Essential’s full package is kinda heavy as those contains whole of their packages. I agree offline installer is much better than online installer, though. But, separate packages would be better :)
Separate package for each product currently not available, at least we’ve offline installer available for WE where we can uncheck those we don’t need to install and install necessary ones.
