Microsoft has finally announced Windows 8 Editions- there are altogether five editions including a local language edition for china and other small select emerging markets, they are : Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows RT, Windows 8 Enterprise. Microsoft also confirmed that Windows 8 will be product name for next x86/64 Windows versions.
Windows 8 Editions key Features
Windows 8 edition offers all the features including updated including Windows Explorer, Task Manager, better multi-monitor support and allows to switch between languages easily.
Windows Pro is more for tech enthusiasts and business/technical professionals. This edition offers all Windows 8 features plus encryption, virtualization, PC management and domain connectivity. Media Center will be available as economical media add-on pack to this edition.
Windows RT, (Windows Run time) a strange name from Microsoft aka Windows ARM or WOA will only be available to pre-installed PCs and tablets powered by ARM processors. This edition includes touch-optimized versions of office apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
Windows 8 Enterprise includes all the features of Windows 8 Pro and features for IT organization that enable PC management and deployment, advanced security, virtualization, new mobility scenarios, etc.
