This is in fact not a news at all, a minor change where Google seem to be testing or rolling out new loading screen for Gmail users that appears after they signed-in. Generally loading progress bar appears on top left side of the screen, now it appears to be moved to Center for some users. Presently I am lucky to get it as I can capture and share this with you, if you’re getting this also-perhaps it’s a change that has been rolling out by Google to all users world-wide.
Reason for moving Gmail’s loading progress bar to center of the screen?
This new fully blue colored progress bar tweaked by Google may load faster when compared to lighter blue one, and its position has been moved to center for better visibility of loading screen and to gain the user attention, just some guesses. What do you think about this change? share with us in comments.
I like it. It feels more faster than the old progress bar.
I advise to hide the loading text and keep only a progress bar with a gradient-centered backgrnd
I wish it was green.
Finally! I think they should have changed this a long time ago. Seem like Google is really investing in GUI design lately. I think it is worldwide. And it looks like it is loading faster than the old one, or is it just an illusion because of the stripes :P.
I have never seen the blue bar before March 8, 2012……I see no purpose for it, hate it ,annoying. has nothing to do with Firefox (which I use). Please remove it or I am switching emails. Thanks, Gail
Thank you Nikola……………………how do we get Google to hide the annoying blue loading bar. I never saw the previous gray bar…..not a problem loading so I would like Google Gmail to hid it’s loading bar……………too annoying. gmr
I noticed that today

I never noticed the ‘old’ gmail progress bar which was fine with me but now I get this blue progress bar to me it seems as if Gmail loads a lot longer.
In my opinion it is a useless effort to improve gmail.
Thumbs down on the new progress bar
Isn’t Google/Gmail reading these posts? Please go back to hiding the loading progress bar. It is annoying, not necessary. Thanks, gmr
Too bad they don’t at least allow the user to change the color of the &^%@ thing.
