Since few past days lot of Google Chrome users reporting they’re experiencing crashes on YouTube, when users tries to close YouTube tab after watching the video Chrome just hangs -users need to restart the browser where Chrome restores previously opened tabs and windows.
[Fixed] Chrome Crashes whenever closing a YouTube Tab
Google Employee Toni reports on Chrome support forum that issue is now fixed, user no longer experiences a hang when closing a YouTube tab after watching a video. Users don’t need to update Chrome, just refreshing YouTube tab fixes the problem.

You will not need to update Chrome, just refreshing the YouTube tab should resolve it.
