
By default in Windows 8 DP Hibernation option won’t be visible on Shutdown dialog or for Power option icon in Metro Screen when you click on it, Hibernation is a power-saving state primarily designed for laptops which saves open documents and programs to your hard drive and turns off your Computer and Windows restores them when you turn on your Computer. Hibernate option uses the least power of all power-saving states in Windows, let us see how we can enable Hibernate option in Windows 8.
Enabling Hibernate option in Windows 8
1. Open Desktop Control Panel >Hardware and Sound>Power Options
2. Click on “Choose what the power button does”, now in the opened System Settings window click on Change settings that are currently unavailable
3. Scroll down to the bottom and select Show Hibernate under Power options settings, click Save Changes button.
4.Now you can view hibernate option in shutdown dialog which appears when you press Alt +F4 supposing that all programs are closed.
5. Press Win key to view metro start screen and press Win+I to get settings now click on Power icon as you can see hibernate option along with shutdown and restart options.
