
Security vendor Symantec released beta version of Norton Identity Safe as a standalone service which you can download for free of charge. This cloud-enabled service manages logins for websites without hassle for you remember the passwords and also securely stores and synchronizes logins, passwords, credit cards and other web form information across browsers and devices. This service works on Windows PCs, Apple Mobile devices and Android phones.
Norton Identity Safe Service
Norton Identity safe is a part of Norton 360 or Norton Internet Security, so you don’t need to download this service as it already installed for you.
You need to have a Norton account to use this service, you can signup for a free account if you don’t have one. You need to remember single master password with which you can able to securely access to your favorite sites.
User need to create separate password for his “online vault” which shouldn’t be his Norton account username or password. Once this step is completed, Identity Safe saves your logins and passwords as you type them and also imports logins from IE and disables browser password manager (optional).
Identity Safe installs Norton toolbar for all browsers it supports that installed on your Computer – IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safar – which includes “Norton Safe Search”, “Safe Web” that shows ratings for website when you click, you can use identity safe menu button on toolbar to log out of Identity safe and access other settings and edit your personal information.
