
Probably you mostly use New menu which appears when you right-click on empty space on desktop is to create a new shortcut or New Folder or to create a text document on desktop is it not? other entries can be unnecessary, is there a way to remove them and can we add new file types to the New menu yes! freeware portable New Menu Editor makes it possible.
Using New Menu Editor
Download the program zip file,extract its contents to a folder and run New Menu Editor executable which displays all entries present on New menu on right-pane with new file types to add from the left pane.
Removing the items on New Menu
You can remove the unnecessary entries shown on right-pane by selecting and clicking on trash icon for e.g you can remove Contact file, journal document and other entries one by one. If you check New Menu after their removal, those entries won’t appear. You can add them back by searching for file type and adding the file type from the list to the New menu.
Adding new file types to New Menu
Type the file type in the search box which you wish to add and click Search icon, select the file type from shown results on the left pane and click on + button where a dialog box appears select the file type as either Empty or Predefined template file and click OK to add to new menu which appears on right-pane and on New Menu after edition. Empty file means o byte file with no data .
New Menu Editor works on Windows XP/Vista/7, .Net Framework 3.5 is required to be installed on your Computer to work.
