
Obviously Desktop is the one that always visible when you minimize running apps and windows and user always tends to open lot of apps from shortcuts of them on desktop. Why to open My Computer to access contents of USB drive when plugged-in? of course Windows does offer autorun window to view files in USB drive but to prevent autorun viruses entering into your system you must disable autorun of USB drives, why am I talking all this yep! its about Desk Drive freeware app which automatically creates shortcuts on desktop for removal drives such as USB, CD/DVD ROM drives.
Using Desk Drive
Download and install this app on your Computer and run it. Now to see how this software works, connect your pen drive you’ll see a ring highlighting shortcut created on desktop for USB drive for you to notice. Double click on shortcut to view or access files in the drive. If you remove the USB drive shortcut will be removed automatically.
From Desk Drive settings (access by right-clicking on tray icon) you can set the app to run on startup, remember icon positions and hide tray icon. You can enable minimize all windows and open Windows Explorer when pen drive is connected options from the settings. You can exclude certain drive letters by typing them under Exclude box on the program window.
Desk Drive works with removable drives, network drives, RAM drives and CD-Rom drives.
Desk Drive works on Windows XP/Vista/7.
It requires an active internet connection to download files during installation. I hate online installers and although this software is a very good idea, i won’t be using it.
