Yesterday AVG released its 2012 products for Antivirus, Antivirus Free and Internet Security with the addition of AVG Advisor, so far AVG 2012 is faster and doesn’t slow down your system with number of process running related to AVG reduced when compared to 2011. If you’ve installed AVG 2012 and not satisfied with its performance here is how to uninstall AVG 2012 from your Computer with the help of AVG 2012 Removal tool, if routine uninstall procedure from add/remove programs doesn’t work..
Uninstalling AVG 2012
1. Close Browser windows or any applications if running.
2. Open Control Panel> click Programs, open Program and Features
3. Select AVG 2012 in the installed programs list and click Uninstall button
4. AVG Software Installer window appears which shows the options to “remove user settings” and “Remove virus Vault Contents “, select them (don’t select remove user settings, if you plan to reinstall AVG 2012 later) and click “Next” button.
5. AVG 2012 will be uninstalled and you need to restart your Computer by clicking “Restart Now” button after that.
IF you can’t uninstall AVG from Programs and Features
Using AVG 2012 Removal tool
You can use AVG 2012 removal tool which removes all parts of AVG installation in your Computer, this includes: registry items, installation and user files on your hard drive etc. During the uninstallation with the AVG Remover, all AVG user settings will be removed, as well as contents of the Virus Vault and other items related to AVG installation and use.
During the removal procedure, you will be asked to restart your computer. Please make sure to finish your work and to save all important data prior to AVG Removal tool launch.

P.S. This article written by me to during the shift to Avast 6 from AVG free 2012 though AVG is doing fine.
I used AVG’s own uninstaller in order to remove AVG, but on the uninstall process, I accidentally didn’t select to remove user settings. Is there any way to get rid of those “leftover settings” on my pc?
Manually you can do that, but that’s not recommended. My suggestion is get used to remove programs even the security ones with Revo Uninstaller.
I have tried to uninstall AVG from add remove progs, did not work, tried from safe mode, no joy, downloded avg removal tool, and nooooo joy so why do these companies take the piss with proprty not belonging to them, is this not criminal damage with intent!! any solicitors online let us know, maybe a law suit or two might stop them designing this kind of big brother crap.
AVG 2012 doesnt seem to slow down my desktop pc system…just starting to have irritating pop ups for free poll, and AVG itself alerting you that ur browser is taking up too much memory space and to close it, very frequently. With AVG 2011, i didnt have the unwanted pop ups, how to block these pop ups pl?
But AVG 2012 has slowed down my laptop system a lot, and i can see only half pages on my screen. Is there anyway to go back to 2011,pl> I’d removed 2012 from my laptop but when trying to download 2011 it redirected me to 2012 version.
Would appreciate help

AVG sucks and I had to do a Clean Install of the OS (3 days of BS) to get rid of it. I think I’ll sue the b’S!
I uninstalled AVG 2012 and it still was there then ran this program(x86) version and its gone now. Thanks for the tool. I am now with MalwareBytes PRO antivirus and its the best one ive used. not so process demanding and is a perfect spotter for unwanted files or programs. Even the malwarebytes free worked better than avg 2012
What you want me to say?
Please and then again Please. Help me.

I prev uninstalled avg internet security 2012, selected to remove all. It left behind even though I told it ot remove and reactivate windows firewall, it left its own firewall. I tried the above removal tool from here and a dozen other sites and it still has not removed it from my computer.
Any further advice would be nice
First time hearing about using AVG removal tool for AVG commercial product i.e AVG Internet Security 2012 since we’ve used that tool to remove AVG free AV from our Computers in the past we don’t came across these things.
Well I suggest you to rerun AVG IS setup, then you can able to Remove AVG Firewall. If you’ve purchased AVG IS 2012? then you can contact AVG customer support as well.
Thanx so much! Their techs were gonna charge me $120 which is total BS
Thank you amazing tool!
