Drag & Drop A Most Visited Thumbnail to the Apps Section to Create An App in Chrome

Last updated on August 11, 2011 By Venkat

Apps are nothing but links to websites, latest Chrome Canary build allows to create apps in easy way. As we know installed apps icons appear on New Tab Page in Apps Section, do you know you can create an app by dragging and dropping a most visited thumbnail in “Most Visited” section to “Apps” Section, you need to enable “Experimental new tab page” in about:flags for this to work.

I created apps for YouTube, Gmail, My Site (Techdows) in Canary build with drag and drop of thumbnails from Most Visited section (check the screenshot above).

This is fun way of playing with most visited thumbnails and creating  apps with them in Chrome. BTW this experimental new tab page became new tab page in Chromium 15.
