
After Firefox 5 RC Firefox 5 Final released by Mozilla ahead of it’s scheduled release date 21st of this month and is available for download via its FTP servers. Users interested in upgrading to Firefox 5 can download from below links now or wait for Mozilla’s official announcement in their blog post after that to receive automatic update notification within 24 to 48 hours. After installing Firefox 5 final, you’ll be upgraded from Firefox 4.1 to Firefox 5.

- added support for CSS animations
- The Do-Not-Track header preference has been moved to increase discoverability
- Improved canvas, JavaScript, memory, and networking performance
- Improved standards support for HTML5, XHR, MathML, SMIL, and canvas
- Improved spell checking for some locales
- Improved desktop environment integration for Linux users
- WebGL content can no longer load cross-domain textures
- Background tabs have setTimeout and setInterval clamped to 1000ms to improve performance
- The Firefox development channel switcher introduced in previous Firefox Beta updates has been removed.
After installing Firefox 5, we found some speed improvements and one add-on (Avast WebRep) disabled due to incompatibility issue. You may not find any major differences between Firefox 4 and Firefox 5, through there are under hood developments in Firefox 5 which we’ve to wait to know till Mozilla’s announcement.
