If you are following a user on twitter interested in his updates, not for the retweets he shares, then you can disable or turn off that user’s retweets from appearing in your timeline without the need to unfollow that user, here is how to do that.

Turn off a user’s Retweets
1. Click that username on Twitter which opens his mini-profile or reach his full profile page by visiting ‘http://twitter.com/username’ in your browser.
2. Click on Gear icon before following button, from drop down select ‘Turn off Retweets’, twitter shows message that retweets from that handle will no longer appear in your timeline.
3. To enable retweets back again, you need to select ‘Turn on Retweets’ from gear icon and that user’s retweets will appear in your timeline again.
Last line contradicts the whole blog post. Can you, or can you not turn off retweets from a user you are following?
Read the sentence correctly, I said users not user.
Sorry venkat, but your last sentence does indeed contradict your whole post. It’s not clear that “user” and the “users” may be distinct individuals and if so, who.
Deleted that to avoid the confusion. Thanks for your comment.
