A Username and Password are being requested by http://twitter.com The site says “Twitter API” [Fix]

Even though you logged into web twitter with your username and password, sometimes annoying pop-up box comes up and asks you to enter your twitter account’s username and password, sometimes even clicking “Cancel” won’t take pop-up dialog box away, this is annoying let us see when this dialog box comes up on twitter.com and how to fix it.

Here is the pop-up login box prompted by Twitter API

“ A username and password are being requested by http://twitter.com . The site says “Twitter API”.

This dialog box generally appears in Firefox browser and Safari, reason just simple you are subscribed to RSS feeds of particular user account through live bookmarks of Firefox and Safari.

The fix being remove twitter account’s RSS feed item from bookmarks from Firefox and in Safari > go to >Preferences >and set Check for Updates to ‘never’.

    Also thank you to you for reproducing a ‘fix’ provided by Twitter support, but it is nonsense. No plugins or RSS feeds here. This bug is here for months now. Only on the new Twitter homepage and only in Firefox.
