How to Enable and Disable Google Instant Previews

Last updated on November 17, 2010 By Venkat

Have you tried Google Instant Previews , let me tell you Google Instant Previews is no way related to Google Instant search that means turning off Google Instant won’t disable Google Instant Previews.

Enabling Google Instant Previews

Google Instant Previews available from Google Search results doesn’t mean that this feature is enabled by default. This feature is only enabled once you click magnifying glass next to title of the result.

Once you click magnifying glass icon, Google Instant Previews will be enabled and Google will load previews for other results in the background, so you  can flip through them.

You can preview for all search results pages, (yes for all search results and search results pages) as you  can hover the cursor over each result.

Disabling Google Instant Previews

Once you enable Google Instant Previews with Single click you can turn  off them with clicking magnifying glass icon again.At present there is not permanent way to disable or turn off Google Instant Previews. as is the same case with Google Instant also.

We can’t confirm this but Google Instant Previews won’t support encrypted Google , much like Encrypted Google won’t support Google Instant.

    I don’t like this program at all. It has disabled my search previews program, which I do like. Is there any way to get rid of it? Or is this just another case of Google ignoring everyone but themselves, and then imposing their will on users?

      @John Sinclair
      Instant Previews only shown when you click the snippet or magnifying glass, so just don’t click magnifying glass.

        Just dont click, huh?
        Well if you’ll select some text from “found” paragraph, you’ll need to deselect it eventually, and when you try to do that – viola, fracking instant preview is here!.. If you click outside of this magnifying glass – it gets its click anyway!!!

          @volutar
          That’s the option Google left to us, as they’ve not provided much of an option to turn off their instant search permanently.
          Don’t worry, we’ll cover any way to disable instant previews feature permanently if we found .
          You can try encrypted Google which doesn’t support Google Instant and Google Instant previews.
