Use HTTPS for Chrome Forces Twitter and Facebook sites to use HTTPS

Last updated on October 27, 2010 By Venkat

Whole Internet is shouting about Firesheep extension that allows to hijack twitter and Facebook accounts as Facebook and Twitter sites use HTTP which allows session hijacking for hacker by stealing cookie from users on open Wi-Fi networks. We covered how to protect from Firesheep using Force-TLS Firefox add-on.Wondering there is any Chrome extension similar to that, someone heard and created Use HTTPS for Chrome which by default forces Twitter and Facebook sites to use HTTPS instead of HTTP.

Use HTTPS extension for Chrome predefined with Facebook and Twitter sites.Developer of this extension in future wants user to allow to configure defined sites. It will be much better if this extension in future allows to add more sites .

Use HTTPS

We don’t know how affective this extension when compared to  Force-TLS add-on as it exists much before and very popular one.
