Mozilla has reorganized Firefox browser preferences (or in-content settings) and it has been landed in Nightly (Firefox 55). The current eight sections in Firefox options– General, Search, Content, Applications, Privacy, Security, Sync and Advanced —have been re-arranged to five different sections in the new Preferences UI: General, Download & Links, Firefox Account, Privacy & Security and Updates.

The Firefox team has created a temporary killswitch to restore old Preferences in case if they won’t ship the newly organized preferences -it is browser.preferences.useOldOrganization.

You need to create the above Boolean preference and toggle its value to False to see the old design in the current Nightly build. This could last for five major releases, after that it will be removed.
