Mozilla to end Firefox Universal Search experiment today, if you’re testing the experimental feature and part of Fx Test Pilot program, know this: After uninstalling or disabling Universal Search add-on, the search bar in Firefox browser won’t be restored automatically, you need to manually add it by visiting the customize menu, here is how that can be done.

Restoring Search bar in Firefox after removing Universal Search

First, to remove Universal Search,

  1. Click On Firefox Menu, select Add-ons > Extensions
  2. Click Remove for Universal Search

To restore Search bar after that

1. Click on Firefox menu, click on customize

2. Drag and drop Search bar on the navigation toolbar where it used to appear before or click on ‘Restore defaults‘ and click ‘Exit Customize‘.
