Though we’re late in publishing this information on our website, most of BSNL broadband users may already know about this: The telecom provider has made the post-FUP speed for all broad plans across India as 1 Mbps from 512 Kbps, effective from August 1, 2016 onwards. We feel, this may lower the number of users that go for top up to increase their broadband speed. The email we received yesterday from BSNL also confirms that and also check the press release quote we’ve added below.
BSNL Broadband 1 Mbps Post FUP Speed
“In a series of offering customer friendly schemes for benefits of customers, BSNL has upgraded the Broadband speed to minimum 1 Mbps after High Speed FUP (Fair Usage Policy) Quota at no additional cost for all concerned existing BSNL Broadband customers (Who are under BB plan of post FUP Speed of 512 Kbps) on PAN-India Basis from 1st August, 2016.” Press release posted by BSNL reads.
Browsing with 512 kbps results in worst browsing experience, forget about software downloads, pages even don’t load. Don’t forget the fact that a few months back, BSNL has made the 2 Mbps as the least speed for all broadband plans. So now the pre-FUP speed is 2 Mbps and post FUP speed is 1 Mbps.
