Following Power Saver and browser VPN features, Opera software has added yet another new major feature to its its browser, the company has introduced personalized news feed on Opera 39 developer channel. They’re tweaked the News feature, previously known as ‘Discover’, for that.
“We started with re-doing what we had – the news feature, previously called Discover. We decided to power it up, adding more personalization, convenient reading and smarter options.”
Personal news feed in Opera browser
To get started, on latest developer version, open the start page, click on Newspaper icon, choose the sources you want to read — FYI, Opera automatically shows those sources through an algorithm based on your browsing history and location– by clicking on ”show me more’, you can able to add more sources from categories such as Living, Food, Health, Technology etc. once done, click on ‘Lets start reading’ for the news to appear on a structured timeline.
You can add new sources whenever you want by clicking ‘Add sources’ in the side panel.
The company says their news feed is more personal, smarter as it displays news on a structured timeline,
At the moment, you can’t add any site feed manually. For that, you still need to depend on feed readers such as Feebly. Let us see Opera allows to add more desired sites in the future to its news feed, rather than limiting you to view stories from a pre-defined list of sources.
