As Windows 10 is just two weeks away, Microsoft has released Windows 10 build 10240 to insiders in the fast and slow rings (no ISOs have been available, you need to rely on Windows Update and you should be logged into the system with your Microsoft Account to receive the build). Windows Update shows this build as ‘TH1 Professional’.
What’s new in Windows 10 build 10240
1. Desktop watermark that appears on the bottom right corner of the screen has been removed. You can know the build you’re using by running ‘winver’ command in run dialog box.
2. Over the next two weeks, you’ll see Windows Update and app updates in the store.
4. To distinguish from Office desktop versions, Microsoft has already added ‘Mobile’ label to Office Preview Universal Apps in Windows Store, in a week, they’ll remove the ‘Preview’ from app names and you need Office 365 subscription to edit on Windows 10 PCs and larger tablets.
5. Windows 10 final comes preinstalled with fully featured OneNote and editing is free. But you need to download and install Office Mobile apps –Word Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Excel Mobile —from the Windows Store.
