Except for the built-in mode, before uninstalling any application Revo Uninstaller always creates a restore point first for the Safe or Moderate or Advanced uninstall modes. If you’re seeing Revo’s uninstall wizard showing ‘Creating Restore Point -failed’ error
(check the screenshot below) and then it moves to the next step of the uninstall process, that is analyzing the application data.
Though Revo uninstalls the application and its left overs completely, it’s always safe to create system restore point so that if something goes wrong we can restore the system to a previous working state. Let us see how can fix this.
Why Revo Uninstaller fails in creating a restore point?
The first thing you need to do is: right click on computer, select Properties > System Protection and ensure under ‘protection Settings’, for the C (system) drive, Protection is enabled, if not, click on ‘configure’ and select ‘Turn on System protection’, click ‘OK’ to apply the changes.
Try to uninstall a Program using Revo uninstaller to see it creates the system restore point, if it’s not, you’ve to do the following to your computer running Windows 7 or Vista.
Open services.msc using the run command
Find Volume Shadow Copy service and double click on it to open its properties and choose “startup type” as “automatic”, click “ OK” to apply the changes
Note: If VSCS is already running, then you’ve to find other ways to fix the problem.
