Snagit 12.2 for Windows is available with a light theme for the Snagit Editor. After Snagit 12 release, TechSmith has got a lot of criticism from users for its Editor’s dark theme interface, today’s update Snagit 12.2 has offered light color theme, which you can choose and set for Snagit Editor after installing this update. Don’t get confused, the Snagit 12.1 update has allowed you to change background color of Canvas in Editor.
To change the Editor’s color scheme to light from default dark, open Snagit Editor, File Menu>Editor Options>General, choose ‘light’ for ‘Editor Color Scheme’, if you’re already using ‘Editor Background color’ as ‘Light gray’, you don’t need to change that one, if you’re not, set to that from Dark Gray(default).
The folder where Snagit saves screen captures automatically is ‘C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\TechSmith\Snagit\DataStore’, this update lets you change this destination to your liking now.
To do that, open Snagit Editor, File Menu>Editor options>Advanced, click on the Folder icon opposite to ‘Automatically stored files location:’ and set the folder you want.
This version has improved the Scrolling capture. "With Snagit Windows 12.2, we’ve overhauled the engine that pulls together the hundreds of images that make a scrolling capture possible. " Snagit Product Owner, Jason Eagleston said on Techsmith blog.
Below is the official changelog for this version:
- Added a light theme so you can now choose the color of the Snagit Editor interface
- You can now choose the auto-save destination for your files
- Improved scrolling capture functionality
- Other critical and minor bug fixes
Snagit 3.2 for Mac
