Support.com has released SUPERAntiSpyware 6 Free version, Pro (trial) and are available for download with new intuitive interface and useful System Investigator Tool. System Investigator (SI) is available for access under ‘System Tools’ shows what’s running and installed in your PC. Before showing files as ‘Known Good Items’ or ‘Unknown Items’, the tool verifies files against a whitelist database of SuperAntiSpyware and user vote data.
The Investigator looks for files in these areas: Startup programs, running processes, registry load points, installed applications, browser plugins, services & Drivers, CLSIDs, Program Files, shortcuts on desktop and start menu, temporary folders, task scheduler and document and download folders.
Redesigned user Interface is simple and easy to navigate.
After install, when you perform Quick scan, it recommends to perform pre-scan for frequently unwanted programs.
System Investigator shows so much information about files on your computer will be useful for advanced users and technicians, but not for common people.
Cons: SuperAntiSpyware hangs while running System Investigator.
The new UI and Investigator doesn’t please free version users as it lacks real-time protection, schedule scanning and Automatic updates. Whenever you want to scan your system for viruses that other anti-spyware misses, you can give it a try.
Best free anti-malware IMO is Malwarebytes, what do you say about this new version?
