With Snagit 11.3 version, TechSmith has introduced Google Drive support and it has also released app and extension for their screen capturing product on the Web Store then. Yesterday, TechSmith has updated Snagit for Chrome on online store with ScreenCasting feature, it now allows you to create screen recordings in Google’s browser Chromebooks and also lets you upload those to YouTube or Google Drive. Currently these features are in beta, you need to enable those before using them.
Enabling Screen Recording feature of Snagit in Chrome
If you’ve not yet installed Snagit’s app and extension yet, search and install them from Chrome Web Store. Make sure you’ve installed both app and extension as you can see them in Chrome://extensions page after their install.
Now to get started, click on the app launcher icon on the taskbar and click on Snagit app and click on ‘Gear’ icon to open settings and enable ‘Enable experimental features’. You can now see ‘New Screen Recording’ button in the library (check the screenshot below).
Now visit about:flags in Chrome, find and enable ‘Enable screen capture support in getusermedia’ flag and reopen Chrome browser for the changes to take effect.
TechSmith says, currently screen recording feature is in beta, works well on Mac, Windows desktops and on Intel based Chromebooks.
