Firefox 24 Beta has been released and available for download for testing purposes. Recently we’ve covered what’s new in Firefox 25 Aurora, this beta has added ‘Close Tabs to the Right’ command to tab context menu, Chrome already has this feature with version 24 release Firefox officially will get this. If you can’t wait till Firefox 24 release, you can have it in Firefox 23 with Close Tabs to the Right extension.

Firefox 24 Beta : new features, changes and improvements

New features:

  • Support for new scrollbar style in Mac OS X 10.7 and newer.
  • Implemented Close tabs to the right.
  • Social: Ability to tear-off chat windows to view separately by simply dragging them out


Accessibility related improvements on using pinned tabs


  • Major SVG rendering improvements around Image tiling and scaling (see 600207)
  • Improved and unified Browser console for enhanced debugging experience, replacing existing Error console
  • Removed support for sherlock files that are loaded from application or profile directory

Support for W3C touch events disabled
