Back in December Gmail team has graduated three features from Labs, “Quote selected Text” was one of them, till yesterday this feature is available to all Gmail users by default but not the case as it has been sent back to labs again as “users sometimes unintentionally quoted text they had inadvertently selected, which caused some confusion” said Gmail on Google Plus.

So if you want this feature back in Gmail, from gear icon select Settings click on Labs, find “ Quote selected text” and select “enable” button opposite to it and click on “Save changes” button.

The other two features-Send and archive and Default reply to all”- graduated along with Quoted Selected text have no changes by this time unless Google thinks otherwise.

For uninitiated, Quote selected feature is useful in such cases where if you’ve got a long message with questions, you can answer them one by one after quoting the selected text while replying.
