Where Unsaved Captures in Snagit go?

If you save captured images from Snagit to your hard drive that’s fine, if you forgot to save them this is the article that tells you where to find them in your hard drive. Even though if you don’t save captures Snagit automatically stores them to its DataStore folder. So you can visit that folder and save unsaved captures to regularly saved directory on your Computer.

Finding location of Unsaved captures of Snagit

Use Run command to navigate to below mentioned path on your Windows OS.

In Windows XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\User name \Local Settings\Application Data\TechSmith\SnagIt\DataStore

In Windows Vista, 7 and Windows 8  C:\Users\venkat\AppData\Local\TechSmith\Snagit\DataStore

Snagit stores unsaved captures to datastore folder by default in .SNAG format thumb Where Unsaved Captures in Snagit go?

DataStore folder contains images with SNAG extension format, so you need to open them in Snagit editor and save in desired image format such PNG or JPEG to your Computer.
