VLC Media Player 2.0.4 for Windows/Mac/Linux has been released by Videolan by fixing over hundred bugs and with the addition of 300 commits on top of VLC 2.0.3. This release introduces support for Opus codec and offers number of improvements and fixes for playback. VLC 2.0.4 is a major update with security and stability enhancements, you’re recommended to upgrade to this version.
VLC 2.0.4 new features, improvements
- Improvements and fixes for Playback on Blu-Ray, DVD, HLS, Ogg and MKV files; but also for Youtube, Vimeo, Koreus and Soundcloud.
- Wallpaper mode for Windows has been fixed, it will work now without any issues that means you can able to set playing video as wallpaper on desktop from VLC’s Video menu.
- Adds Opus codec support, including multichannel ones and streams, and MSS playback through DMO libraries.
- Fixes numerous issues, including audio device selection, Qt and Mac OS interface, security issues
