So what is the benefit of this over the official tool? Whatever the reason may be, why not suggest the changes be made in the official tool?
Avast official tool only intended to cleanup files left by Avast if its uninstall unsuccessful, this tool can’t clean the left over entries in your hard drive after Avast uninstall, which unofficial tool does.
