Browsing PDF files via Metro interface is not user friendly
When any PDF Reader is already opened- it’s much easier for us to browse through Windows explorer to find PDF files and open, where in Windows Reader you need to use “Go Up” button to find local drives and then click on them and then scroll further horizontally, select your PDF file and open it in Viewer.
Because Windows Reader is set as default PDF Viewer app in Windows 8, you can open any PDF file directly from Explorer.

You can open and view only one PDF document at a time, like modern PDF Readers such as Nitro PDF Reader Windows Reader doesn’t allows us to open pdf file in separate tabs, however you can right click on any where on page in Reader to get options at the bottom which allows to open another file.
