Back in March 2011, much like to Facebook Twitter added option to always use Twitter.com on web with HTTPS, it’s not enabled by default user need to enable it from their account settings, today Twitter announced that they’re turning on HTTPS  by default for every signed-in user, you can now securely browse Twitter when using from unsecured WiFi Connections.

Accessing Twitter.com via a secure connection brings security and protection to your information in your account, there is also one down-side with this -slow transfer of information, data travels much faster on non-encrypted connection than on encrypted connection, you can disable or turn it off from your account settings page if you prefer.
