ClearType technology developed by Microsoft aimed at LCD displays makes text visible sharp on LCD screens and flat monitors, but the ClearType makes words looks ugly on CRT Monitors which you can disable, this technology is enabled y default irrespective of monitor type you’re using. Its not easy for novice users to reach ClearType and smooth edges of screen fonts options in Windows 7, ClearType Switch is freeware app lets you enable or disable ClearType and smooth edges of screen fonts from one place.
In Windows 7, ClearType and Smooth edges of screen fonts options available at different places. To reach ClearType option>Right-click on desktop>Personalize>Display>Adjust ClearType Text.
For other option, open Control Panel, search for Performance and Tools>Adjust Visual Settings>Uncheck for Smooth edges of Screen fonts.
Using ClearType Switch
Download and install the program to your Computer, run it. From the program window you can disable both or one of the options.
