Avast’s WebRep Module Shows Reputation Ratings for Sites

As we’ve covered beta release of Avast 6 Free antivirus that included AutoSandbox, Site Blocking and WebRep features, like AVG LinkScanner Avast WebRep (Web reputation) shows safety ratings for each site you visit in your browser (currently for Firefox and IE) and these ratings also shown in search results shown by Google, Bing etc.

Though WebRep not working for Firefox browser, but currently each site’s reputation ratings are shown in Internet Explorer browser. Avast installs WebRep plug-in for Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers.

WebRep rates sites based on virus lab data and community input. You can reach WebRep module by opening Avast user interface, click “Additional Protection” followed by  clicking “WebRep” module.
